I got a chance to visit Stockholm through my ex-company, back in 2015. It was a week-long trip to attend multiple seminars and sessions, so most of my day time was spent inside the conference halls. My trip was in September and the weather was good enough for me to roam around beautiful Stockholm. Nandita really wanted to visit the city but due to visa logistics (sigh…), she couldn’t make it. Anyhow, this Postcard from Stockholm, is going to be short as we are intending this to be more of a photo story.
Postcard from Stockholm
Stockholm is a pretty European city that offers visitors a glimpse into the city’s modern and old architecture. The city is quite big and well connected by public transport. There are many technology companies and the cost of living is quite high. Gamla Stan is a place that must not be missed when you visit the city. It’s a small area which can be covered by walking and reachable via public transport. Gamla Stan hosts many old-time pubs, restaurants, cafes, large statues, and the cobbled stone streets which would take you back in time. The buildings are colorful, tastefully decorated with magnificent architecture. A relaxing cruise along the river is highly recommended, as it shows the panoramic view of the city and provides excellent photo opportunities. Day trips to nearby towns are quite easy to manage because the public transportation in Stockholm is excellent.
Photos below are some of my favorites from the city and the trip!
