Fairytale Christmas Market in Gent

(Last Updated On: )

Back in 2018, we took an epic one-week trip to mainland Europe to enjoy some charming and traditional Christmas Markets. It’s been 5 years since our only visit to these charming Christmas Markets. 5 whole years! Every time I think of them, my thoughts always go back to the fairytale Christmas Market in Gent.

Having visited Brugges before, I thought of exploring Gent on that trip. It’s an easy day trip from Brussels, less crowded but equally charming as Brugges. The architecture of this cozy little town won’t cease to amaze you. But during December, the town is sparkling with cozy Christmas decorations and filled with small stalls selling mulled wine and other delicious food. Ah, it was such a treat to our eyes and our taste buds. The best part of all is that the Christmas markets in Gent (and Belgium) continue until 31st December, instead of ending around 23 December, like other neighboring countries.

Sharing some photos from our trip, back in 2018! It was a fairytale Christmas Market in Gent.
